Hello everyone!

I just finished making a flyer for my search for a band. Not bad if I do say so myself! I will be posting this around the halls of Musicians Institute to help get word out about my search. So far I've got a few responses from guitarists. Nothing is set in stone yet though, so I'm staying open to all responses.

Anyway, I've been as busy as ever. I started up a second part time job (so not to interfere with time I would need for the band) and that's going well. Saving up money for new equipment and performance gear. I'm beginning to write more songs. I've been on a mini hiatus with songwriting. It gets incredibly frustrating writing music with this genre; at least for me. It never sounds the way I want it too. Which if probably the point of writing with the band. They can fill the gaps with even more creative things then what I could come up with. It will be nice, I'm sure.

I also want to take a moment here to send ask readers to send a wish for the people and families hurt by today's bombing at the Boston Marathon. Over a hundred people injured, 3 fatalities. One of whom was just a child runner. It's a sad day, and the gruesome images are everywhere. What was once a holiday for Boston has become a day of painful memory. I hope justice will come to whomever thought selfishly to do such a thing to innocent people. They got what they wanted; attention. Now let's hope they regret ever getting it.

Enough sad talk, I want to thank everyone again for supporting me and my career. Hopefully I'll meet my band soul-mates soon, and we can take the world by storm!

A Bright Hello!

Hello everyone! My name is April Starr. I'm an aspiring musician and welcome to the new blog. I shifted over from tumblr, because tumblr is not a place for journals anymore. Tumblr has changed in the past few years to a fun place to share funny images and have a good time. So, I decided it'd be best to keep a personal journal of my journey on Blogger instead. You can find my tumblr still at http://theaprilette.tumblr.com/.

Anyway, it's been a long time since I've written anything about what's going on in my life. It's been quite a year. I've been busy writing music and trying to move out. I've been keeping up with my guitar lessons as well as taking voice lessons again. But instead of going on a tangent about things of the past, I have some announcements!

I turned 21 on the 3rd of April, and I decided that would be the day I would officially release my website! You can find it here at: AprilStarrMusic. I had a wonderful photo-shoot with my friend Ekaterina Gorbacheva and I released those pictures as well.

I've also have officially announced my search for band mates. I am looking to form a Symphonic Metal band here in Los Angeles. Symphonic Metal is the genre that speaks to me; it's orchestral instruments with operatic voicings dancing with a hard rock beat. It really is the Beauty and The Beast of music. And I adore it. It hardly exists in the US, as it is a predominantly European genre but that won't stop me from trying to show the world how wonderful it is.

Anyway, I'm currently looking for a lead guitar, rhythm guitarist, drummer, bassist, keyboardist and violinist. I know the violinist will probably be the hardest to find, but I'm determined. I have a soft spot for violins, and I really want to make it a big factor in the music I make.

Aside from that, I'm starting up a new Youtube side project about working on video game music. So that will be something to look out for too. I'm excited to finally get the ball rolling. I've been working on music in silence for a while. There were a few goals I wanted to accomplish before looking for a band. Some fell through, some worked out. Like, how my voice was messed up after I lost it at my final showcase. But Coreen Sheehan, my former teacher and amazing mentor, helped me out and I feel back in shape to perform. Thank you Coreen!

I hope everyone is ready to see me step forward from behind the curtain, because I'm so tired of being back there!
